Our Story

Tommi’s Burger Joint was founded in early 2004 in Iceland and officially
opened its doors on April 10th of that year, led by Tómas Tómasson —
affectionately known as Tommi and Örn Hreinsson.

From the Harbor to the City

The first location, situated by the harbor in downtown Reykjavík, quickly proved to be ideal thanks to its spot next to one of the city’s main roads.

It didn’t take long for the joint to gain popularity, and that success led to the opening of several more locations throughout the greater Reykjavík area.

Today, there are nine Tommi’s Burger Joint restaurants across Iceland. In 2014, Tommi’s Burger Joint brought its burger magic to Copenhagen, introducing the Danes to the art of a proper burger.

We opened our doors in Kødbyen on June 17th — Iceland’s National Day — and have been going strong ever since, serving up the best burgers and vibe in town. Kødbyen is the place to be in Copenhagen — stop by and say hi!
